       What is Thrombopoietin?

       Thrombopoietin is a glycoprotein molecule produced by the liver and kidneys that regulates platelets production by the bone marrow by stimulating           the production and differentiation of megakaryocytes – the bone marrow cells that fragment into large numbers of platelets.

         Profile:

         – Safe and well tolerated;

         – Stimulating effect on platelet production, similar to endogenous thrombopoietin;

         – Accelerates the recovery of platelet numbers and cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

        Indications:

        – Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) as a consequence of chemotherapy in cancer patients.
