TREATMENT OF SKIN LESIONS IN THE HOSPITAL UNIT AS A CONTRIBUTION TO PATIENT SAFETY.

In view of the problems and the magnitude of the impact that skin lesions can have on the lives of patients, their families and the institution, it is extremely important that professionals act in the prevention, monitoring and care of lesions. To analyze in the literature the importance of the skin committee in the hospital environment to contribute to the safety of hospitalized patients. Describe the phases of setting up a committee for the prevention and treatment of skin lesions. Analyze the factors involved in the committee for prevention and treatment of skin lesions. In this integrative review, the nine selected articles met the pre-set criteria for the study. The discussion was based on the organization of the studies into categories. First category: the role of the committee for the prevention and treatment of skin lesions, the committee for the prevention and treatment of skin lesions. Second category: contribution to patient safety, prevention committee and treatment of skin lesions focused on patient safety. Third category: factors involved in the work of the committee for the prevention and treatment of skin lesions. Conclusion: The work of the Committee for the Prevention and Treatment of Skin Lesions aims to contribute to the safety of clients, working to prevent lesions by developing protocols, providing preventive care, continuing training, the use of scales, the recommendation of equipment such as mattresses, cushions and changes of pressure.
